A Very Disney Christmas

We had the absolute pleasure of visiting Epcot and the Magic Kingdom during the holidays. Just as you would expect with Disney, it was magical, and now that we live minutes from the parks we are able to visit whenever we have free time. There is, however, something innately and almost inexplicably special about Disney World during Christmastime.

We went to Epcot on Christmas Eve and while some might consider it the lesser of the Disney Parks, thrill-wise anyway, but we would happily disagree. If Disney does anything well (and they do), they are brilliant at creating an experience. For a few hours, you can confidently pretend you’re walking through the streets of Germany, or enjoying French pastries in a boulangerie. A favorite spot for us is The Rose and Crown Pub located in the U.K. area of the World Showcase. *That’s a huge plus about Epcot — unlike the other three Disney Parks, they serve alcohol!* At night we enjoyed Christmas Eve dinner at Cafe Marrakesh in Morocco, complete with falafel, hummus, lamb kebabs and belly dancers.

We, of course, saved the Magic Kingdom for Christmas day. When you visit any Disney park, especially during the holidays, you have to accept the fact that your day will include lots of waiting. The parks will be jam-packed, the attraction lines will be long (as well as the bathrooms) and the chances of people getting testy are high. You have to look at the bigger picture: you are in the happiest place on earth, so don’t forget to take in the experience. There is so much to do! The New Fantasyland expansion and the Starbucks addition on Main Street are just a couple of the newer treasures we experienced. We always love Splash Mountain, even in 60 degrees, and we always love The Haunted Mansion. Waiting in line for that is half the fun! Plus, the entire park is decorated beautifully. They even shoot out fake snow over Main Street.

We can’t wait to have more Disney adventures — we’re even planning some photo shoots around the area. It’s such an inspiring place to be, it makes you feel like you can accomplish anything if you just work hard. We hope everyone had a fantastic holiday break, and that the new year brings you everything you want and need. Also, we hope those trapped in below freezing temperatures and entirely too much snow are staying safe and warm! Don’t forget to bring your animals inside! If you’re already over winter and forever dreaming about warmer weather, by all means check out our denim shorts on the website. Every pair is designed, customized and fitted just for you! We’re already planning for our spring/summer adventures, so be sure to stay tuned for more.

F/W ’13 Lookbook

It’s here! Our fall-winter line, The Lost & Found Collection, launched November 1 and we are so excited to finally share what we’ve been working so hard on. The theme is all about comfort and nostalgia. It’s about grabbing your favorite T-shirt from your boyfriend’s closet (or floor), throwing on a gigantic pullover, tying a comfy flannel around your waist, or simply pulling on a beanie and rocking your day. It’s about pieces that not only make you feel comfortable, but confident about yourself. We also love the simple nods to 90s grunge that we are forever mesmerized by.

It’s not always easy to dress fashionably when the weather gets steadily colder, but we refuse to lay down and play dead just because it’s winter. Enjoy our beautiful lookbook and get inspired!

“For me, it’s not necessarily a particular piece of clothing or outfit, but more a style choice. When I want to feel comfortable and confident, no questions asked, I go with black. There’s nothing like an all black outfit. My absolute favorite combination is my black H&M pullover, leggings, black leather knee-high boots, topped off with my gold-rimmed Ray-Bans. Boom. Black is classic and easy and won’t ever go out of style.” — Ashley

“The go-to staple of my closet, especially for fall, is my oversized camo jacket. I wear it with cutoff shorts and flats on warmer days or leggings and boots when the weather gets cooler. I can dress it up or down, and the neutral colors allow for easy pairing with denim, black, brown or almost any color. If you’re like me, fall is all about comfort. My favorite looks for the season are ones that make me feel great without sacrificing style.” — Lauren

“Flannels! I always try to pair a flannel with a cute, stylish outfit. Flannels are always a good pop of color to an outfit and they can be dressed up or down. My all-time favorite flannel is my black BDG one from Urban Outfitters. It’s comfortable and always makes me love my outfit. I pair it with some knee-high socks and boots and I’m good to go.”  — Annie

disney“My go-to favorite outfit includes black leggings and boots. I can easily dress it up with a longer shirt layered with a shorter jacket or a cardigan, and always with lots of accessories: necklaces and bracelets. The same leggings and boots can be casual and cozy with a bulky sweater, or a crew neck and scarf.” — Lynne

The night sky? Stars? Hmm. An additional tidbit: this screenshot is from a movie. We realize these pictures may seem vague or incredibly random, but we promise you they are actually quite specific if you know what you’re looking at. You can expect a few more clues before the line launches in just a few weeks. Tweet us @fellowthreads with any guesses!
